The Senior Accountant is responsible for establishing and maintaining the general accounting reporting and practices for the organization. This person will manage and analyze financial information to prepare necessary journal entries and reconciliations to accurately state ledgers and financial statements in accordance with regulation (e.g. GAAP).
This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is part of the Finance & Accounting team located in Arvada Colorado and will be an on-site role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Performs month-end close including general ledger journal entries consolidation and account reconciliations in conformance with SOX and GAAP
Driving compliance with accounting standards and ensuring strong internal controls and documentation
Actively participates in variance analyses activities identifies trends and provides recommendations to ensure accuracy drive accountability and streamline processes.
Leads the AR Clerk and works together to meet Phenovas cash flow and collections goals. Helps manage and collect payments from key customers coordinating with Customer Service and Sales.
Responds to customer questions (by email or phone) about their accounts in partnership with the AR Clerk.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables VLOOKUP macros and other complex functions.
Strong self-motivation and initiative with a proven ability to independently identify issues conduct thorough analysis and implement effective solutions with minimal supervision.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a senior-level accounting role ideally within a corporate environment.
Must hold one of the following credentials or experiences: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) MBA (Master of Business Administration) or prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Microsoft AX/D365 or Syspro experience a plus
Previous experience supporting an audit (whether internal or external)
Experience with ERP Implementations or Upgrades (Highly preferred)

The salary range for this role is $84000.00 - $93000.00 annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
