Job Description
Working Under the direction of physician/ provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred
- Current nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Basic computer literacy required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Good communication and customer service skills required
- Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines
- Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
- Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products. EPIC Preferred
- Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction
- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills
- Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed
- Skill in applying and modifying principles methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
- Strong attention to detail skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May include standing sitting and/or walking for extended periods
- May include performing repetitive tasks
- May include working with challenging patients and clients
- May include lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to use logic reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
- Occasionally requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
