Position Overview:
KODA Technologies is seeking qualified Orbital Analysis Subject Matter Experts to support Space Base Delta 1s critical space operations mission. This position offers career growth opportunities from Junior to Senior level based on experience education and demonstrated proficiency in orbital analysis. The successful candidate will provide expert orbital analysis support training and technical guidance for satellite operations including DSCS WGS MILSTAR and AEHF communications satellites at Schriever Space Force Base Colorado.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise and in-line support to government orbital analysts
- Perform orbital estimation propagation planning scheduling trending and analysis
- Support orbit and attitude state vector determination and solve-for elements
- Conduct data processing of tracking and telemetry data for orbital analysis functions
- Generate orbital products including ephemeris maneuver planning data and collision avoidance assessments
- Support daily orbit/attitude maintenance operations for satellite constellations
- Assist with Launch and Early Orbit (L&EO) disposal and special operations
- Provide conjunction assessment risk analysis (CARA) and collision avoidance (COLA) support
- Support satellite control network (SCN) operations and ground system activities
- Participate in exercises rehearsals and real-world operational surges
- Assist with orbital analysis training programs
- Provide initial and recurring training to government orbital analysts
- Create and update training materials procedures worksheets and job aids
- Develop and maintain orbital analysis scripts tools algorithms and databases
- Create technical documentation for orbital procedures and operational guidance
- Provide technical review of mission-critical orbital analysis products
- Generate reports briefings and status updates for leadership
- Maintain proficiency records and training documentation
Qualifications:
Various Levels Considered:
- Junior Level: 1-4 years of relevant experience with orbital analysis exposure
- Mid Level: 4-8 years with demonstrated orbital analysis and space operations experience
- Senior Level: 8 years with extensive orbital analysis expertise and leadership capabilities
- Required: Bachelors degree in Astrophysics Astronomy Aerospace Engineering or related field OR 4 years of orbital analysis experience
- Desired: Advanced degree or 6 years of orbital analysis Orbital Analysis Subject Matter Expert (OA SME)
- Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in advanced mathematics (Algebra Calculus Statistics Physics)
- Proficiency in orbital mechanics principles and astrodynamics
- Experience with orbital analysis software and tools (STK ODTK or similar preferred)
- Knowledge of satellite operations ground systems and space vehicle characteristics
- Understanding of conjunction assessment and collision avoidance procedures
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Command and Control System Consolidated (CCS-C) preferred
Desired Skills:
- Advanced degree in Astrophysics Astronomy Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 6 years of orbital analysis experience in military or government space operations
- Experience with DSCS WGS MILSTAR or AEHF satellite systems
- Previous experience with Space Force Air Force or DoD space operations
- Familiarity with satellite control networks and ground system operations
- Experience with conjunction assessment and space situational awareness
- Knowledge of space safety and orbital debris mitigation
- Previous training or instructional experience in technical subjects
Travel: Occasional travel is required.
Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and hold an Active DoD Secret clearance. TS/SCI required for certain positions.
