Job Description

Position: Defense Acquisition Analyst
Location: Aurora CO
Work Environment: Onsite
Clearance Required: NACI
Status: Contingent
Salary Range: $110000- $130000

Knowesis is currently seeking an exceptional Defense Acquisition Analyst with a professional understanding of acquisition and the Defense Health Agencys(DHAs) TRICARE Health Plan (THP) to join our team and provide invaluable support to the DHA Health Care Operations Team.

To be eligible for this position candidates must have or have the ability to obtain a NACI clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the positions security clearance requirements.

The Defense Acquisition Analyst provides operational and analytical support to the TRICARE Health Plan (THP) Acquisition Division. The role focuses on managing day-to-day coordination of acquisition projects while delivering data-driven insights to support contract planning performance monitoring and technical integration. The candidate will support the acquisition lifecycle for Managed Care Support Contracts (MCSCs) providing expertise in performance tracking risk assessments source selection planning and system readiness oversight.

The ideal candidate will hold a foundation in federal acquisition or program management and experience working with multidisciplinary teams supporting health system contracting initiatives in a complex stakeholder environment such as DHA or other DoD components.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Acquisition and Project Support:

  • Support acquisition strategy execution and assist with coordination of cross-functional workstreams including source selection activities transition support and contract monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain project trackers integrated master schedules (IMS) and decision logs for THP acquisition initiatives using Microsoft Office SharePoint and Agency approved tools.
  • Assist with risk mitigation planning action tracking and milestone monitoring for healthcare contract transitions and re-procurements (e.g. T5 USFHP TRICARE Dental). guidelines).

Performance Tracking & Analytics:

  • Track and analyze Managed Care Support Contractor (MCSC) deliverables using dashboards Microsoft Excel and other tools; support trend analysis and insights generation.
  • Contribute to contractor performance reporting issue identification and preparation of executive summaries.
  • Maintain familiarity with TRICARE Operations Manual and associated contractual performance requirements (e.g. timeliness claims accuracy and deliverables).

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Assist in stakeholder engagement with other DHA Directorates Contracting Activities vendors and senior government officials as directed by leadership.
  • Draft and review project documentation including meeting minutes SOPs charters decision papers and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing executive-level briefings position papers and correspondence to support acquisition governance and decision-making.
  • Attend/support acquisition-related governance meetings to support project planning and issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Public Administration Health Policy or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience project management or acquisition analyst roles in support of federal programs such as DHA or DoD/VA.
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition concepts procurement documents or contract management is highly desirable.
  • Adaptability to continuous development of contract strategies policy updates and program transitions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Outlook Word PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or CAPM certification (or working toward one).
  • Completion of Defense Acquisition University (DAU) coursework or interest in pursuing DAWIA certification.
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare programs such as TRICARE VA or CMS.
  • Experience working with TRICARE MCSC contractors or healthcare acquisition programs.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Power BI Tableau and Microsoft Power Automate is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint MS Teams or collaborative planning tools.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to synthesize technical and contractual data for decision-makers.
  • Attention to detail in tracking deadlines contractor submissions and QA findings.
