Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations to ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction team performance and operational efficiency. This position requires strong leadership attention to detail and the ability to oversee day-to-day activities including front desk housekeeping maintenance and guest service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in managing all hotel departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Supervise front desk housekeeping breakfast and maintenance teams.

  • Lead and coach team members to meet brand service standards and enhance guest satisfaction.

  • Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally to resolve issues and ensure a positive stay.

  • Oversee daily financial tasks such as shift reports cash handling and deposits.

  • Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards safety protocols and company policies.

  • Participate in scheduling training hiring and performance evaluations.

  • Conduct property walks and inspections to ensure cleanliness safety and brand compliance.

  • Assist with inventory ordering supplies and controlling operational costs.

  • Step in for the General Manager as needed in their absence.




Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or business degree preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.

  • Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in hotel systems such as Opera or similar PMS platforms.

  • Flexibility to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Customer-focused with a hands-on management style.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in a branded hotel especially IHG or Holiday Inn Express.

  • Knowledge of IHG systems and standards (Merlin Concerto etc.).
