Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Duration: 12-month Assignment
Job Type: Full-Time EST hours
Location: Fully Remote must be located in the EST or CST zones.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated U.S. Payroll Specialist. This role requires expertise in full-cycle payroll processing and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with automated payroll systems and a strong understanding of U.S. payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently process large (2K) full-cycle payroll in the absence of a supervisor.
- Accurately input payroll data including deferred compensation payouts bonuses taxable benefits 401(k) contributions wage garnishments and more.
- Process and review personnel changes for accuracy.
- Monitor workflow to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
- Run and import payroll interface files while verifying accuracy.
- Determine and process final pay for terminating employees.
- Review and verify timecard entries ensuring proper integration.
- Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for management finance HR and benefits teams.
- Assist with quarterly reconciliations and year-end W-2 processing.
- Respond to internal and external payroll inquiries.
- Participate in special projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 3-5 years of U.S. payroll experience required.
- Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with automated payroll systems required (ADP Payforce/Vantage preferred).
- Experience using an automated time capture system (Workday preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly advanced Excel.
- Oracle experience is a plus.
- Education: Associates Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
