Job Description
This role will focus on Resins & Polyethylene-based Films and will support the procurement needs of Printpacks Sustainability initiatives. As experience is gained the role will also participate in the sourcing of other substrates including BOPP & Polyester sourcing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead all sourcing activities within the various Raw Material categories we source.
- Develop and execute a sourcing strategy within each product category.
- Execute and manage supplier relationships and contracts containing favorable terms to Printpack to reduce costs reduce working capital ensure product quality and meet our service requirements.
- Initiate and lead bids and supplier negotiations on a regular frequency. The process must include input from all key internal stakeholders.
- Achieve year-over-year cost savings cost avoidances value improvements.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and initiate projects to realize these savings. Gain cross-functional alignment through communications and financial and/or strategic justification. Lead the projects to successful execution.
- Focus on tracking (Supplier Scorecards) and improving supplier service and quality performance. Negotiate claims on behalf of plants. Initiate and lead supplier improvement programs.
- Become the subject matter expert of the products you source how we use them & why and the global marketplace for these products. Market participates market trends technologies the supply chain supply-demand dynamics cost drivers and manufacturing economics market pricing etc.
- Contribute to the overall department strategy and annual business plans that link to the corporate business strategy and support each Divisions AOP targets. Contribute to strategic sourcing process improvements.
- Work closely with Product Development Plant associates and Materials Management to support our Customer Manufacturing and Supply Chain initiatives and requirements.
- Work closely with Product Development to create alignment on supplier and product selection and qualification to optimize the balance between cost savings objectives and raw material technical requirements.
- Strive to be the customer of choice with our suppliers. Develop wide and deep supplier knowledge and relationships to ensure that both parties are focused on a common agenda and desired results. Provide raw material market intelligence and pricing trends to Commercial leadership.
