OVERVIEW:
Are you our next Employment Lawyer managing HR-related legal risks and compliance across the whole of Gymshark
WHAT YOULL BE DOING:
As our in-house UK qualified employment law solicitor you will be part of the CoSec team managing HR-related legal risks and compliance across the whole of Gymshark. You will have experience in contentious and non-contentious employment work ideally within the retail sector or with retail experience and be willing to apply risk management across different jurisdictions.
Specifically you will:
- Develop update and implement company employment policies ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Provide expert guidance to HR and management on employment law matters including discrimination harassment wage and hour laws leave policies and workplace accommodations.
- Conduct regular audits of policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and industry best practices.
- Lead or support internal investigations related to employment concerns employee relations issues and policy violations.
- Develop and deliver training programs on employment law topics workplace policies and best practices for managers and employees.
- Collaborate with the People team to respond to employment-related claims litigation and regulatory inquiries.
- Monitor changes in labour laws and industry trends to recommend proactive updates to company policies.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of policies investigations and compliance activities
WHAT YOULL NEED:
- Post qualified experience as a solicitor practicing UK employment law.
- Strong knowledge of applicable HR laws and regulations.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling employee relations matters Including settlement and severance negotiations.
- Experience in drafting employment contracts and policies
WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:
- Experience in the retail / consumer sector
- International experience whether working in private practice or in industry
- An agile and risk-based approach and a curiosity for learning about the labour laws in the key territories where Gymshark trades.
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ Solihull UK.
