The Opportunity
At Multiverse were on a mission to build the next generation of our product and we need a strategic and forward-thinking Senior Engineering Manager to lead and manage multiple teams on our internal platform. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development: Lead mentor and foster high-performing engineering teams cultivating a culture of ownership trust collaboration and continuous improvement.
Strategic Alignment & Delivery: Partner closely with Product Design and Data counterparts to define and execute your teams roadmap ensuring tight alignment with Multiverses strategic objectives.
Technical Vision & Architecture: Drive the technical direction and architectural decisions for your teams services ensuring they are scalable reliable maintainable and easy for other teams to adopt.
Complex Migrations: Lead critical technical migrations minimising toil for consuming teams adopting new changes.
End-to-End Ownership: Own the complete development lifecycle for your teams commitments from planning and execution through to deployment and monitoring.
Performance & Quality Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure team performance product quality operational excellence and the impact and adoption rate of new initiatives.
Talent Acquisition: Actively participate in hiring and onboarding top engineering talent to effectively scale the team.
AI Innovation Champion: Champion the adoption and implementation of AI tools and technologies to drive innovation enhance developer productivity and deliver intelligent features for our users.
About You
Technical Capability:
Leadership Experience: Demonstrable experience leading and managing multiple software engineering teams ideally within dynamic evolving or high-growth environments where adaptability and rapid iteration are key. Proven history of shipping high-quality products and services.
Technical Management Depth: You have significant experience in software engineering and have successfully managed engineering teams that build and operate foundational services or internal developer platforms.
AI / ML Experience: Direct experience or a strong demonstrable passion for leveraging AI machine learning or advanced data tooling to drive product innovation and improve internal efficiencies.
Complex Initiative Delivery: Track record of iteratively delivering and sustaining large long-running technical initiatives through ambiguity and complexity.
Architectural Acumen: Solid understanding of modern software architecture principles with experience building and scaling cloud-native applications and microservices.
Customer Empathy: Deep customer empathy able to understand developer pain points and translate them into impactful platform features.
Communication & Influence: Excellent communication and influence skills.
Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically navigate complex technical challenges and make effective data-informed decisions.
