Job Description

The Manager in Growth Product and Partnerships (GPP) team is responsible for identifying and implementing partnership opportunities for a large and complex strategic partner. The role requires a sales and business development professional with 5-6 years of experience who can identify potential deals develop the tactics and manage the teams needed to bring them to fruition.  The GPP team works closely with Visas Core and Digital Products as well as other stakeholders such as Legal Finance Marketing etc. teams to execute partnership agreements and deliverables that are typically highly complex strategic and cross-functional in nature. The manager will support a senior account executive across multiple areas critical to realize growth and progress with strategic partner accounts.

  • Account Management Support:
    • Develop and support execution of customized account strategy objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for select strategic partner accounts.
    • Support the account and relationship management and sales plan for these accounts ensuring that the clients business objectives are met.
    • Align the cross-functional teams on key proposals including representation from Legal Marketing Product Operations Risk and Technology.
    • Support the development negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and relationships with strategic partner executives.
  • Market Expansion Lead:
    • End to end management of strategic partner account expansion opportunities including internal and external communications and contract management.
  • Solutioning and Implementation Support
    • Support identifying strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segment and customers business needs leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms.
    • Support senior account executive in product solutioning and client implementation work.
  • Thought Leadership:
    • Support exec reporting and interactions with senior management and executives to indicate the status of the partnership progress.
    • Proactively educate the Visa organization on market developments and partner opportunities.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.


Qualifications :

Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • A minimum of 5 years business experience with related sales and management experience in the mobile software hardware or technology services industry
  • Payments or financial services industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of planning managing and closing a complex competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation to closing and through delivery
  • Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives policies and operational decisions
  • Strategic thinking and thought leadership
  • Teamwork interpersonal & relationship-building skills and ability to lead by influence and example
  • Proven ability to partner communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
  • Experience managing up building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations
  • Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
  • Executive presence Strong written and oral communication including large-group presentations
  • Team oriented collaborative and flexible
  • Ability to influence and work within matrixed environment


Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132300.00 to 191800.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical Dental Vision 401 (k) FSA/HSA Life Insurance Paid Time Off and Wellness Program.
