Description

The Regulatory Reporting Policy team sits within Corporate Finance Corporate Controllers specifically within the Bank Controller Accounting Policy and Reporting (BCAPR) consisting of the Bank Controller Corporate Accounting Policy Regulatory Reporting Policy Inter-entity Analysis Quality Review & Control and SEC Reporting teams.

The Regulatory Reporting Policy team work closely with the Firmwide Regulatory Reporting & Analysis (FRRA) team which is responsible for the execution and delivery against the Firms regulatory reporting requirements to its U.S. regulators (include but not limited to FR Y9-C Call Report FR Y-14A/Q/M FR Y-15 FFIEC 009 FFIEC 101/102 TICs etc.). FRRA has end-to-end responsibility for US regulatory reporting and capital stress testing including the design implementation and oversight of the execution analysis and control and governance frameworks.

As a Senior Associate on the Regulatory Reporting Policy team (Policy Team) you will assist the Policy Team with the Firmwide guidance documents interpretation of regulatory reporting rules and instructions support our internal stakeholders to ensure the Firms compliance with reporting requirements establish the framework for and deliver regulatory reporting training and provide regulatory exam support.

Job responsibilities:

  • Monitor regulatory reporting rules and instructions changes across multiple different U.S. regulatory reports
  • Communicate timely changes of reporting instructions (both actual and proposed) to relevant key stakeholders
  • Manage the change management process that include but not limited to the following:
    • Communicate the changes to the relevant stakeholders within the define timeline; update Regulatory Reporting Change Management Templates with all relevant changes
    • Review changes with Policy Team SMEs
    • Collaborate with reporting team to complete the assessment within above change management templates
  • Coordinate assessment of proposed changes to the applicable U.S. regulatory reports and assist & coordinate feedbacks to regulators
  • Support Policy Team SMEs to provide guidance related to reporting requirement changes and implementation considerations coordinate implementation update to the Regulatory Reporting Policy & Implementation Committee
  • Support Policy Team SMEs in providing technical interpretation & guidance on regulatory reporting issues and document interpretations of complex transactions and new products
  • Assist and maintain internal policy interpretation and implementation related Frequent Asked Questions (FAQs) assist with maintenance and update of regulatory reporting instructions on Policy SharePoint and future portal and manage key projects such as RAP vs. GAAP adjustment and historical FAQ projects
  • Manage bi-weekly GSIB peer calls process

Required qualifications capabilities and skills:

  • Accounting degree required
  • 2 or moreyears of experience in financial services required at either a big 4 accounting firm or similar experience in U.S. GAAP accounting or regulatory reporting interpretation as associate level or equivalent
  • Strong interpretation analytical and communication skills
  • Delivers timely and high quality work consistently over time with a sense of urgency
  • Strong written and oral communication skills clear concise and appropriate method of delivery
  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate US GAAP or regulatory reporting requirements
  • Attention to detail and experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines as well as tracking and driving execution

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Banking product knowledge desired
  • IFRS interpretationexpertise a plus
