Job Overview: The Specialist in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) will be responsible for leading the on-ground design implementation and management of M&E frameworks. This role involves evaluating program efficacy and outcomes directly in classrooms and schools with a focus on understanding shifts in mindsets and 21st-century skills among learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- M&E Framework and Tools: Develop a comprehensive understanding of M&E frameworks tools and metrics to effectively measure program outcomes including shifts in mindsets and 21st-century skills.
- Qualitative Data Collection: Spend extensive time in schools and classrooms to engage with teachers and students. Conduct interviews Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and qualitative evaluations of the program delivery.
- Data Documentation: Accurately document program implementation data including validating data fidelity for accuracy.
- Operational Data Analysis: Analyze operational data regularly and communicate findings to internal and and external stakeholders.
- Support Data-Based Decision Making: Contribute to discussions and initiatives focused on data-based decision-making. Help prioritize insights and learnings from collected data to build a roadmap for program improvement.
- Data Presentation and Communication: Effectively communicate data to government and internal stakeholders through reports and presentations at defined intervals. Proactively flag operational issues identified through data analysis and observations to internal teams.
Essential Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring & evaluation with extensive field experience preferably in the education sector.
- Technical Competence: Strong technical competence in various monitoring and evaluation methods.
- Operational Management: Strong operational management ability with a clear focus on results effective goal setting planning prioritization and monitoring of work quality and progress.
- Collaboration: Strong sense of collaboration and experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g. Operations and Curriculum).
- Field Experience: Extensive field experience including the ability to observe teachers and students and conduct interviews and FGDs.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with survey administration technological applications and data analysis tools such as MS Excel and Google Sheets at a minimum.
- Student-First Mindset: Strong orientation towards a student-first mindset ensuring students are prioritized in all processes including tool design data collection and presentation.
- Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication skills with fluency in Hindi to effectively communicate with teachers and students.
