1The Tank Planner is responsible for overseeing the Tank API-653 Internal Inspection outage planning/scheduling/estimating of Mechanical/Piping/I&E and all associated supporting crafts for Control Maintenance and Local Capital projects ($5M - $10MM in size).Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Tank Plannerthrough 07/31/2025 at 11:59 p.m. (PT).
Accountable for estimating and planning for construction projects. Works with contractors and Construction Company Representatives to develop accurate and predictable execution estimates. Understands sequencing of tasks associated with construction execution and demonstrates good planning and organizing skills. Must be able to perform field walks in all areas of the Refinery to complete scoping of work. Understands and supports refinery safety and environmental policies. Demonstrates an understand of the work process deliverables and expectations related to the Construction work processes. Estimates large jobs early in Phase 3 and works with Procurement to order and track long lead material. Ensure plans are detailed appropriately in Primavera and Plot Plans are developed. Estimates approved scope change including material ordering and level of work instructions. Documents and shares lessons learned. Adopt digital tools as rolled out for use and provide feedback to product owners.
Tank Planning Responsibilities and Coordination for this position may include but are not limited to:
Leverage the Tank KPI Sheet to track deliverables and key performance indicators.
Collaborate with the Fixed Equipment Inspector (FEI) to determine if on-stream inspections are required. If so assist in arranging and coordinating the inspection.
Gather scope inputs from FEI recommendations Maximo work requests OA requests I&E rotating equipment and piping.
Coordinate with the Tank Task Force (TTF) Team Leader TTF Operations Supervisor and Tank Engineer to develop the full scope.
Conduct a scope review using the Minimum Functional Objective (MFO) approach to assess and challenge OTR and non-essential items.
Perform constructability reviews during the planning phase with the Contractor PM Tank Program Lead Tank Engineer and Company Representative.
Support the Tank Operations Representative in preparing to take the tank out of service.
Assemble the tank work scope and distribute it to contractors for estimate generation.
Generate a Class 3 Estimate and submit a request for full funding expenditure.
Request the Cost Analyst to process service orders and work orders for tank projects.
Collaborate with the CSG Scheduler to develop a predictable P6 schedule.
Update the Tank Planning and KPI Tracker for each tank.
Forecast and communicate equipment needs (e.g. crane forklift) in close coordination with the assigned Contractor Maintenance PM/Supervisor.
Order required materials and follow up to ensure timely delivery in coordination with the assigned Contractor Maintenance PM/Supervisor.
Facilitate the handoff meeting to the CSG Company Representative.
Participate in weekly TTF Coordination and Schedule Lookahead Meetings.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $116800 $200400. The selected candidates compensation will be determined based on their skills experience and qualifications.
