Job Description
Brief Overview of Position:
Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates to fill a Security Control Assessor (SCA) position to support a Department of Homeland Security client. Support Requirements may include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:
- Conducting security control testing and evaluations
- Identifying security gaps and vulnerabilities in systems
- Collaborating with teams to implement security controls
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Providing detailed reports with findings and recommendations
- Experience using automation tools to complete SCA requirements
- Ability to work independently and with teams and stakeholders
- Effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
What You Must Bring to the Table:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a similar program
- A minimum of 5 years as a cybersecurity support professional
- Prefer candidates with certification such as CISSP CISA CRISC or CAP; can have equivalent experience in NIST Risk Management Framework security control testing security audits risk assessments and regulatory compliance
- Experience working in a Federal cyber security environment IT or other related industry
- A proven track record of Security Tests and Evaluation (ST&E) Support
- Developing methods to monitor and measure risk compliance and assurance efforts.
- Ensuring that risk compliance and assurance efforts conform with security resilience and dependability requirements
- Work independently on individual assignments with stakeholders at all levels of the agency and communicate clearly to management on progress blockers and process improvements as part of a team dedicated to producing high quality deliverables
- Must be a U.S Citizen with an active secret clearance
