Job Description

Now Hiring: Lead Youth Development Professional

Location:Elkton SD
Part-Time Non-Exempt
Reports To:Full-Time Staff
Compensation:$17.50/hour

Are you passionate about helping kids grow learn and thrive Join our team at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains at our Elkton site where were on a mission to inspire and empower young peopleespecially those who need us mostto reach their full potential as caring responsible and productive citizens.

As aLead Youth Development Professional youll play a key role in creating a safe fun and enriching environment for K5th grade students. Youll lead engaging activities support social-emotional development and help shape the futureone child at a time.

What Youll Do
  • Plan and lead creative educational and age-appropriate activities.
  • Ensure a safe inclusive and welcoming space for all children.
  • Communicate regularly with families about their childs progress.
  • Mentor and support a team of youth development staff.
  • Track program outcomes and help manage budgets and reports.
  • Promote positive behavior and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a clean organized and inspiring program space.
  • Assist with hiring training and supervising staff.
  • Build strong relationships with families and the community.
  • Bring energy creativity and leadership to every day.
What Were Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework a plus!)
  • Experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills
  • Availability to work five days a week during the school year and summer
  • Ability to lead by example and support a positive team culture
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to observe and interact with youth in a dynamic environment
  • Able to sit stand and move throughout the day
  • Comfortable using basic office equipment and technology
  • This is a safety-sensitive position
