As a Lead Look Development Artist you will leverage over 7 years of extensive experience andleadership skills to define and implement the look development process. You will provide visionaryguidance and inspire a team of talented artists ensuring the team consistently achieves the higheststandards of quality in shaders and textures while maintaining the projects overall visual direction.
Lead and guide the look development team ensuring efficient high-quality production results.
Provide mentorship and support for junior and intermediate artists.
Provide performance review feedback for artists offering constructive feedback andguidance.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless handoffs of assets as they movethrough the pipeline.
Ensure consistency quality and adherence to show standards through buy-offs and QCchecks.
Develop and refine templates and tools to address unique asset requirements.
Optimize workflows tools and templates to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
Provide training sessions and document procedures to ensure knowledge transfer andconsistency.
Work with the crew to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges.
Coordinate with the Dev department to resolve key technical issues.
Support and assist the look development supervisor as needed stepping in to run reviewsand coordinate tasks and communications.
Assist the Department HOD in reviewing and interviewing potential new hires for theproject.
Mastery of Katanas lighting and material pipeline including managing complex setups.
Advanced understanding of shading lighting and rendering techniques.
Proficient in Linux/UNIX; additional knowledge of Python is advantageous.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
Strong commitment to high-quality assets through consistency and quality control.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to contribute creative ideas.
Solid understanding of color space and artistic aspects of asset creation.
Strong communication skills.
Leadership experience in guiding and mentoring teams.
At least 7 years of production experience.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $49.37 to $71.92/hr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare tuition reimbursement RRSPs Sick and Vacation leave standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held and if applicable the location of the position.
