Berkadia is looking for a talented VP - Senior Underwriter to lead our underwriting efforts for Freddie Mac products. In this role youll collaborate with key business divisions such as Origination Global Production Operation (GPO) Closing Servicing Transformation and Legal playing a crucial part in driving our success. Join us to contribute to a dynamic and impactful team environment.
We Innovate to shape the future of CRE so in this role you will:
- Ensure adherence to GSE housing underwriting standards and company policies.
- Review debt application packages and assess loan sizing against program criteria.
- Analyze borrower credit third-party reports and property information for program compliance.
- Draft and finalize underwriting submittal packages highlighting transaction strengths and risks.
- Support the closing process to ensure conformity with credit terms.
- Provide training and mentorship on GSE housing programs to team members.
- Stay updated on GSE housing programs policies and legislation.
- Contribute to process improvements and technological initiatives.
We Stand for Excellence so to achieve success in this role you should have:
- 5 years prior experiencein a similar position.
- Exceptional credit sense judgment and decision-making skills with demonstrable technical skills in underwriting structuring and closing complex multifamily deals.
- Requires an independent worker with strong project management skills excellent accuracy and attention to details and an ability to adjust to industry changes.
- Ability to travel for property inspections Agency training industry and company conferences training of analysts as required.
- Employee must have a valid drivers license/ability to drive (including corporate vehicles).
- Ability to use public transportation (including airlines).
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
