Position-1: Senior COBOL/RPG Developer Modernization Focus

Experience- 8years

Working Capacity - 100% (8 hours per day)

Location- Remote

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior COBOL/RPG Developer to support modernization of IBM i (AS400) green-screen banking applications. This role is ideal for a developer with deep IBM i system knowledge and a strong understanding of how legacy business logic integrates with backend data and frontend modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and evaluate legacy IBM i (AS400) COBOL/RPG applications.

Analyze and document complex SQL queries.

Translate legacy green-screen programs into modular maintainable components.

Collaborate with SME and architects to align legacy code logic with modernization patterns and document the requirements.

Participate in code walk-throughs and assist with integration validations.

Support QA and front-end teams by explaining backend logic and data behaviors.

Review and test the migrated application.

Required Technical Skills

Strong experience with COBOL.

RPGLE and CL on IBM i (AS400) systems (Intermediate Skills)

Hands-on with DB2/400 including complex queries joins and stored procedures.

Familiarity with green-screen UI flow and associated business processes.

Ability to document legacy functionality and assist with rule extraction.

Exposure to integration Services in IBM
