Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely work with the program team in the design and implementation of the digital data base system of the program
  • Take the lead role to design manage and update the national MEAL digital database system ensuring the donor tracking milestones and interventions are captured  
  • Lead the development of interactive dashboards tailored for different users (SNV implementing partners donor etc.).
  • Ensure consistent application of data governance validation and security protocols by setting user access levels encrypting and backing up data and ensuring secure data storage
  • Ensure the program collected data parameters meets quality and updated as needed.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize for speed and reliability.
  • Prepare guidelines on data entry validation data management analysis and use.
  • Ensure database systems align with SNV donor and government data policies (data retention policies).
  • Develop dashboards infographics and charts to present data clearly.
  • Train and mentor implementing partners cluster-level MEAL staff and data entry clerks on digital data management system including live data reporting tools protocols data interpretation and use.
  • Provide technical support to program staffs in developing digital data collections tools for surveys and transfer of information to various target groups of the program.
  • Ensure the timely upload validation and secure storage of program data across all clusters.
  • Collaborate with the learning and program quality advisors to triangulate data for adaptive learning.
  • Support tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through periodical generation of evidence from the system that could help to make the necessary decision  
  • Provide continues feedback to program staffs including the front-line staffs and data clerks to improve data collection practices.
  • Protect the data base against threats or unauthorized access
  • Suggesting changes and improvements for data base maintenance or protection 
  • Facilitate the maintenance and handling of the data management materials/equipment.

Perform other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications :

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters or bachelors degree in information systems Statistics Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience managing data systems in complex development programs.
  • Strong proficiency in database design data analytics and data visualization platforms.
  • Proven experience in building capacity of partners on data management
  • Experience working in value chain and agri business development and youth employment projects and programs
  • High level computer skills and the ability working with multiple partners and teams  
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel to the field.

Additional Information :

Contract Type: National Full-time

This position will be based on donor funding and approval confirmation.

Expected start date: September 2025

Duty Station:  Addis Ababa Ethiopia

Contract Duration: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance and available budget.
