ROLE SUMMARY
Accountable for the global strategy management andperformance of global customs services. Ensure the designmaintenance and implementation of standards andgovernance for our customs outsourced / She will collaborate and work with Global ProcurementGlobal Transportation Services and Global TradeCompliance to procure services establish agreements andmange contracts related to customs for identifying opportunities and designing andimplementing customs operational solutions that generatebusiness operational customs projects across multiple regionsoverseeing resources schedules and finances throughouttheir life cycle. Manages issues risks and change requeststo ensure timely and successful project incumbent will ultimately report to the Customs andCompliance Lead and serve on the Customs & ComplianceLeadership Team. Additionally will collaborate with the LTto drive the T2 Blueprint sponsor specific initiatives and bean integral part of the T2 Leadership Ecosystem.
ROLE RESPONSABILITIES
Functional Core:
- Ensure the direction and strategy that allowsoperational flexibility efficiencies and riskmitigation in collaboration with customs service vendors (brokers).
- Ensure the design and maintenance of astructured fit-for-purpose framework of vendorgovernance to ensure effective oversight andmanagement of all customs outsourced activities.
- Responsible for the regularly reviews total scopeof outsourced services from an operationalperspective to ensure effective management ofresources and identify opportunities forcontinuous improvement.
- Research and brings forward industry trendspartnership management innovation in the fieldof customs service vendor and best practicesbeneficial to GLNS organization.
- Responsible to set goals and objectives for thecustoms services vendor function aligned withGLNS focus areas.
- Manage and establish appropriate metrics KPIsand scorecards to measure performance healthof the partnership and achievement of goals andobjectives.
- Collaborates with Global Transportation SolutionProcurement and Global Trade Compliance toestablish efficient and effective contractingprocesses to ensure all vendor contracts are inplace achieving GLNS critical milestones.
- Partners with Global Procurement GlobalTransportation Solution and Global TradeCompliance functions the selection andonboarding of new vendors.
- Operationally ensure service and partnership-levelissues resolution.
- Run the customs projects on a day to daybasis making sure that the project produces therequired deliverable within the specifiedconstraints of time and cost and achieve desiredresults.
- Serve as a customs and compliance operationalexpert matter providing strategic insights andrecommendations.
- Orchestrate at a global level in partnership of keystakeholders litigation management process.
- Advice on the compliance implication ofoperational decisions. Stay ahead of trends andchallenges proactively advising on potentialimpacts and opportunities.
- Identify and assess potential compliance riskrelated to customs and compliance operationalactivities developing strategies to mitigate risk.
- Lead and mentor customs and compliances operational teams fostering a strong culture ofcompliance.
- Develop and deliver training programs forcolleagues on customs and compliance operations ensuring awareness andunderstanding across the organization.
- Establish metrics and reporting mechanism tomeasure effectiveness of the customs andcompliance operations program.
Budget / Financial Management:
- Ensures regular actual budget controls andguarantee appropriate mitigation in alignment withthe budget goals.
- Ensures budget setting is in line with thecompanys goals and that an appropriatebudgeting / volume model is maintained toquantify resources needs.
- Governs and prioritises functional needs in closecollaboration with key stakeholders.
- Manages budget needs for specific capabilitydevelopment projects and initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree international trade supply chainlogistics or related field and 7 10 years of experienceof import and / or export vendor management and othertrade compliance operations preferably in apharmaceutical industry consultancy services.
- 5 years of project management experience includingtracking planning and implementation projects.
- Expert knowledge of import and export regulationscustoms laws trade sanctions embargoes licensingrequirements and trade agreements such as free tradeagreements and preferential trade arrangements.
- Interpersonal skills to influence and spit changefacilitate and enhance performance within a crossfunctional environment.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with internal andexternal regulatory audit programs.
- Experience with leading executing and maintainingCompliance programs.
- Ability to prioritize quickly synthesize information andapply regulatory requirements to a variety of scenarios.
- Must exercise excellent judgment make decisionsbased on a clear understanding of the regulationsdeploying strategies to conduct compliant business.
- Strong negotiation communication and relationship building skills as well problem solving decision -making and presentation capabilities.
- Creative curious and adaptive learner willing to seek outcontinuous improvement opportunities while minimizingbusiness risk and driving the Company to meetobjectives across multiple areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree.
- At least 3-5 years in leadership roles. Ability to leadcustoms operations and compliance team with aleadership approach that energizes motivates andfacilitate teamwork while encouraging innovative ideasapproaches and accountability.
- SAP GTS Knowledge.
- Professional trade certifications or similar.
- PMP certified.
- Proven track record driving positive change in a complexenvironment.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving skills based onfacts data and understanding of the regulatoryrequirement in complex and evolving environments;
- Must be able to apply sound risk management.
- Able to handle organizational complexity and ambiguity.
