Job Description

Introduction

Summary:
Join CSC as a Finance Business Partner where youll provide strategic financial advice and insights to drive operational performance project delivery and commercial outcomes. This permanent role partners with senior leaders to support decision-making through robust financial analysis reporting and business case development.

Location: Canberra or Sydney based

About the role

The Finance Business Partner assists management in meeting the strategic and operational targets of CSC. Building strong relationships and trust with key stakeholders across the organisation you will provide insights that support commercial decision-making across both operations and project initiatives. This role partners with a business portfolio providing financial analysis and advice that enables the delivery of strategic objectives operational performance and successful project outcomes.



Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to consult and provide advice to the Executive team and managers in the preparation and management of budgets and forecasts ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Prepare and analyse timely and accurate monthly management accounting reports ensuring commentary and analysis clearly explain key performance drivers for the relevant portfolio and provide recommended solutions.
  • Proactively investigate trends and anomalies taking corrective action where required. Translate financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Support the development and analysis of business cases and project proposals providing input to ensure alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and review financial modelling and sensitivity analysis
  • Assist the business portfolio in the month and year-end finance process including accruals time sheeting capitalisation and work order management.
  • Assist the business in defining tracking and realising project benefits ensuring alignment with business case outcomes throughout and following project delivery.

Specific duties deliverables and reporting lines may vary from time to time depending on business needs and priorities. Key objectives and measurements will be captured in the Performance & Development planning cycle established annually and adapted as needed.



Skills And Experiences

What youll need to excel

  • Degree from a recognised tertiary institution in Finance Accounting or Commerce
  • Appropriate professional qualification (e.g. CA CPA or equivalent) or a relevant non-accounting qualification (e.g. an applicable MBA) is desirable
  • Experience with large financial management information systems (e.g. Technology One SAP Oracle etc.) is desirable
  • Experience in the financial services industry and/or project management is desirable
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with proven success in building relationships at the Executive level to provide insights and recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence negotiate listen and provide practical solutions to operational and financial performance
  • Proven experience producing high-quality reports for senior executive or board-level audiences
  • Strong numeracy accuracy and attention to detail
  • Applied knowledge and experience of management accounting methods and procedures such as budgeting forecasting and variance analysis
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook Word and PowerPoint with proficiency in Excel
