Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled X-Ray Tech to support the Diagnostic Radiology Unit at SMMC. This 13-week travel assignment requires flexibility to work across a range of variable shifts including days and nights through a seniority-based self-scheduling process. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. Candidates must commit to the shift structure and interview availability to be submitted.
Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures across multiple care areas including acute care outpatient ER ICU NICU and OR
Conduct portable and C-arm imaging studies
Maintain high standards of image quality patient positioning and safety protocols
Prepare and/or administer contrast media as required
Accurately complete PACS documentation and reporting
Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care
Float as needed to support unit demands
Comply with departmental policies regulatory standards and infection control guidelines
2 years of recent experience in a hospital or acute care setting
Must be open to all variable shift start times and every other weekend coverage
Must provide written confirmation of understanding shift expectations before submission
First-time travelers accepted
Daily Caseload: 30 35 scans per shift
Must be willing to float to meet unit needs
Block scheduling not guaranteed; based on manager discretion
Local Radius: 50 miles local rate applies (check with AM)
Pending licenses not accepted
RTO must be submitted with profile
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week pay period
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience performing general and advanced radiologic procedures
License & Certifications:
ARRT (R) Certification Required
BLS Certification (AHA Required)
Active California Radiologic Technologist License Required
Fluoroscopy Permit Preferred
