Job Description
Our NIQ Technology teams are working on our new Connect platform a unified global open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NIQs data and insights to innovate and grow. Feeding data into the Connect platform are also a set of large scale applications that process millions of records of data every day.
As an Engineer youll be part of a team of smart highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now the platform for which we are hiring is based in Java ExtJS (Sencha) Angular Spring Boot Tom Cat Oracle Elastic Search Mongo Azure Cloud and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native low-latency technologies. We value CI/CD in everything that we develop. Our team is co-located and agile with central technology hubs in Chicago Madrid Toronto and Chennai.
What youll do
- Install Administer Upgrade Patch 19c/23c Oracle RAC Databases Grid Infrastructure Golden Gate DataGaurd OEM
- Oracle Database migration/upgrade using different methodologies Data Pump & RMAN Transportable Tablespaces
- Define security standards and support security audits
- Develop and maintain system documentation related to Oracle RAC and software configuration
- Proactively identify and suggest improvements / new technologies that can improve the platform in terms of speed quality and cost
Additionally youll be responsible for
- Creating/managing Oracle SR and support team in issue resolution
- Unix shell scripting and basic Unix administration
- Monitoring and managing the platform components (Data Stores Application Servers etc) of the application for availability reliability disaster recovery and optimal performance
- Supporting a 24/7 environment with expectation to be able to work outside business hours to support a global delivery
Qualifications :
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2 years of software development and platform support experience
- Strong knowledge of data structures algorithms and designing for performance scalability and availability
- Good knowledge and experience with SQL (preferably Oracle)
- Hands-on with Oracle Database migration/upgrade using different methodologies Data Pump & RMAN Transportable Tablespaces.
- Experience with RMAN database backup and recovery
- Experience with troubleshooting problems relating to the Oracle database that may originate or exist
