Description

The Lead Pharmacy Technician at the Cancer Center will work alongside the Pharmacy Oncology Specialist Technician Supervisor and Pharmacy Supervisor to facilitate and monitor compliance of pharmacy services at the Cancer Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to pharmaceutical preparation and compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous medications inventory management and other daily tasks necessary meet the needs of the patients.

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications Required
  • Must maintain current licensure to practice as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must maintain PTCB certification.
  • Hazardous Compounding Certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Maintains competency with Closed System Transfer Devices.

Educational Requirements
  • Three or more years working as an IV Certified Pharmacy Technician with chemotherapy experience is preferred.

  • Computer and aseptic technique proficiency.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in addition to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge in preparation of chemotherapy and other related medications.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail oriented.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Relates well with staff.
