RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $28.57 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Senior Program Supervisor the Syringe Services Program (SSP) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the program in the Mid-Hudson counties (Dutchess/Ulster/Orange/Sullivan). The SSP Program is a mobile van-based operation. The Supervisors responsibilities include program oversight supervision of all staff scheduling and coverage for mobile units training lab oversight program development and implementation and contract compliance.


Key Competencies:

  • Provide supervision to staff individually and team train and develop SSP staff peers and volunteers to include program services Harm Reduction Narcan CTR and other applicable trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with data entry reporting and delivery of interventions and adherence as per funder standards.
  • Manage and conduct interventions syringe services community Narcan training HIV and HCV testing and counseling and risk assessments.
  • Manage and conduct outreach to community partners and maintain collaborative relationships with service providers to ensure referrals to the program and to more easily provide access to continuum of care for clients.

Description of Duties:

  • Provide supervision to SSP staff including Coordinator Prevention Specialists Peers and PDSEs.
  • Provide training treatment and testing updates and other programmatic development to staff and peers.
  • Conduct and/or oversee training sessions of the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (NARCAN).
  • Oversee proper care and maintenance of the two SSP agency vehicles.
  • Conduct and oversee harm reduction and syringe services including HIV and HCV counseling and testing.
  • Provide individual risk reduction counseling referrals and follow-up to drug treatment medical treatment and other appropriate services where applicable.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for syringe services and harm reduction sessions.
  • Compile program data ensure that all required data is entered into the AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS) and prepare reports in accordance with funders requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with administrators and staff at community-based resources and local police stations in the counties where the program provides services.
  • Review and continually assess the demands for services in the communities and adjust and/or develop programming as needed.
  • Assist in development of Memoranda of Understanding and ESAP Pharmacy Agreements with local providers.
  • Assist in continually conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure the maintenance of client charts adherence to program standards the goals and objectives of the workplan and compliance with agency policies.
  • Assist in program coverage when needed.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities using program presentations to service providers via social media and through networking with community organizations and key community members.
  • Attend and participate in monthly department All Staff and other required meetings.
  • Be familiar with Cornerstone policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone including but not limited to patient confidentiality financials and employee relations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Human Services field.
  • Alternatively High School Diploma with at least one year experience working within a syringe services program .
  • Experience working with PWUD/PWID and experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of HIV/STIs and HCV harm reduction mental health and community resources. Trained in opioid overdose prevention including the use of injectable/intranasal naloxone.

Travel/Time Requirement: Must have a valid unrestricted drivers license and independent means of transportation for frequent travel to locations throughout the assigned county as well as to the offices of Cornerstone.
