Job Description

Lynas Rare Earths has an opportunity for an experienced Processing Supervisor at our newly commissioned Kalgoorlie Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF).

The Kalgoorlie REPF is a key strategic platform for critical mineral production blending pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical process in an Australian first mineral processing plant.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a safe production-driven Processing Supervisor wanting to join us on our journey. You will have the opportunity to have major input into leading and motivating the Production workforce and helping to achieve our operational targets and output.

This supervisor position is offered on a Kalgoorlie-residential basis initially working Monday to Friday during brief training and familiarisation period then transitioning to the even-time 7 / 7 rotating roster of day and night shift for the crew.

If you are looking for an exciting leadership opportunity to work in a brand-new plant expanding your mineral processing knowledge with a future facing commodity plus long mine life ahead of it this role would be suited to you.

You will be Responsible for:

  • The day-to-day management of the processing plant with a team of process technicians as direct reports
  • Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and that the plant is run to Lynas standards
  • Identifying and implementing safety and production improvements
  • Completing suitable investigations into any incidents that occur
  • Ensuring operational readiness of the plant from a production and operating perspective
  • Planning training and diversification of skills for your crew
  • Develop implement and maintain fit for purpose operating procedures and strategies
  • Take ownership of plant performance and achieve targets
  • Providing support guidance accountability mentoring and direction to your team

Required skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience in an operational processing plant environment leading and supervising operational teams
  • Unwavering approach to safety leadership
  • Ability to build relationships with key stake holders such as maintenance technical and environment personnel to ensure compliant optimum plant performance
  • Strong desire to take ownership in ensuring the plant operations is a success
  • Proven Control room Isolation and/or Permit to Work operational experience
  • Prior experience with the operation of heavy mobile machinery (fork lift telehandler skid steer overhead gantry crane)
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skillsets
  • Solid soft skills across the Microsoft Suite of software
  • Schedule 26 (of WHS Mines Regs) training
  • Relevant High Risk Work Licenses
  • Minimum WA unencumbered C class drivers license or above
  • Must reside within the Goldfields region for our residential operation.
