Job Description
CNC Production Machinist
Empirical Systems Aerospace Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist to work alongside our CNC Programmer. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to; rapid system development on-demand niche engineering hands-on development/testing and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain machine shop equipment
Operate CNC and manual machines per documentation
Prepare stock
Enter data into digital travelers
Assist in managing inventory of consumables
Utilize machining tools to modify and create parts
Provide hands-on support to other shop operations as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Ability to simultaneously monitor multiple CNC machines
2 years of manufacturing experience or similar field
6S standard practice
Stand for extended periods
Some CNC familiarity
Attention to detail
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
CNC setup experience including 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
Demonstrated foundation in GD&T
Proficiency and experience with machining tools and operations such as lathes mills drill press and bandsaw.
Ability to use basic precision measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
Technical hands-on capability with attention to detail. Including parts fabrication assembly and general shop work/maintenance
