Job Description

The Medical Scribe will transcribe patient visit notes into the electronic medical record system. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations quality standards priorities and timing and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

The Medical Scribe contributes to administration of care management by ensuring uncompromised patient care by transcribing fast and accurately as well as performing thorough editing. The Medical Scribe works with Providers and transcription equipment including editing and correcting medical dictation performed by speech recognition software. Performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments.

Requirements

  • 1 years of experience as a Medical Scribe/Transcriptionist or similar such as provider documentation/notes and medical charting
  • EMR Experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record systems
  • Ability to transcribe accurately and maintain a minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute
  • Experience with specialized transcription equipment and voice recognition software
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and jargon as well as editing practice
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and meet legal requirements
  • Exceptional written communication skills and knowledge of medical record formats
  • Willing to travel to nearby clinics to help when needed

Preference

  • EMR Experience preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Medical Assistant Background
  • Microsoft Access proficiency

Additional Information

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humanas Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role you will be required to be screened for TB.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills knowledge experience education certifications etc.
