Job Description
Client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual in the Food and Beverage industry. Candidate shall be able to identify issues within a current production environment and develop cost-effective solutions while considering necessary Customer-Based and Food Regulation-Based requirements. Candidate will be responsible for putting together engineering design packages for the Food Beverage Pharmaceutical and other industries. Candidate will be supported by CAD team and must be able to provide direction in the form of hand sketches or redlines so that they can provide drawing and design support as needed.
Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week
Work Hours: Between 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Start time can be slightly candidate for this position will be responsible for monitoring the operations of our systems including quality and compliance. The candidate should also be able to recommend improvements to the process through the tracking of metrics and reporting of data. The candidate should definitely have strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Complete design of facilities in 2D or 3D with equipment piping valving etc.
Take on various projects from concept to implementation.
Ability to identify problems within a process in a production environment.
Assist in bid preparation including material takeoffs and supplier quotes.
Create Project Schedules and Cost estimations.
Create existing and proposed Flow Diagrams and P&IDs.
Perform ROI Calculations.
Create Project Proposal presentations for customers.
Sending emails to customers to get feedback on designs and options.
Size and Design pumps heat exchangers and piping systems.
Perform Thermodynamic compressible and non-compressible fluid calculations.
Generate an Equipment Tag List that identifies system component design (Tanks Valves Pumps etc).
Manage and Maintain customer files which include separate projects quotes revisions and As-builts.
Chase piping in existing facilities and document then redline with proposed solutions for tying in new equipment.
Hand Sketch P&IDs and provide direction to a CAD team. Ability to perform own CAD work if necessary.
On-Site Work including startup commissioning testing prototyping or construction project management.
Travel throughout United States depending on project may be required.
Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager.
Provide technical support as necessary
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 years experience in Process Engineering
5 years experience in Food or Pharmaceutical production related environment with hands-on experience
5 years experience with AutoCAD
Experience with Revit is highly preferred
Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
Must have an extreme attention to detail
Must have hands-on experience and real-world mechanical aptitude
Must have a strong understanding of a P&ID for thermal fluid process systems (food beverage and other industries)
Familiarity with process control
Must have a strong understanding of the City Permit application process
Must have strong analytical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Must have strong communication and team collaboration skills. (English Spanish is a plus)
Capable of creating City Permit Submittal Packages Site Plans Floor Plans Flow Diagrams P&IDs
Excellent verbal and written communication
AutoCAD test will be administered to test capabilities of CAD.
