Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments to understand vision health and needs.
- Perform visual acuity tests and refraction techniques accurately.
- Interpret test results and prepare reports for physicians.
- Fit contact lenses including specialty lenses as per patient requirements.
- Provide thorough patient education regarding vision correction options.
- Maintain precise records of patient treatments and assessments.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to optimize patient care.
- Assist in managing patient flow in a busy clinic environment.
- Stay updated with the latest techniques and technology in eye care.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the clinic.
- Support patients in understanding their vision insurance benefits.
- Handle patient inquiries related to eye health and clinic services.
- Participate in community outreach programs for eye care awareness.
- Train and mentor junior staff and interns as required.
- Maintain equipment and facilitate regular maintenance checks.
Qualifications:
- Graduation in Optometry or equivalent qualification.
- Certification as a refractionist or relevant license.
- Minimum X years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of ocular health and vision correction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using refractive equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to educate patients effectively about eye care.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting patient data.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if required.
- Fluency in local languages preferred.
