Safety Coordinator

• Support our team of Safety Advisors by coordinating the development implementation and oversight of safety strategies across Victoria Tasmania and South Australia
• Help contribute to creating a strong safety culture across the Qantas Group

As a Safety Coordinator youll play a key supporting role within the VIC/TAS/SA Regional Safety Advisory Team. Responsible for a defined portfolio within a specific business unit youll contribute to the development implementation and oversight of Qantas safety strategy systems frameworks policies and procedures. This role focuses on strengthening safety assurance and incident management activities delivering accurate safety data and analysis and coordinating risk management processes and documentation. Youll also collaborate closely with Safety Advisors to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a proactive high-performing safety culture across the Qantas workforce.

What youll bring to the role:

• Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
• 2 years experience in a Safety Coordination positions ideally within an operational environment is preferable
• Sound understanding and application of WHS legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction from others
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather interpret and present data.
• Ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
• Self-motivated with the ability to show initiative and flexibility
• A positive results focused disposition and do not shy away from challenges being thrown your way
