Job Description
The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a motivated organized and personable individual willing to assist Fire Alarm Technicians. This role is the first step toward becoming a certified Fire Alarm Technician offering opportunities for advancement through training and hands-on experience. The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a team player and a vital member of Classic Fire Life Safetys team.
The Fire Alarm Technician - Level 1 is a full-time hourly position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Assist Fire Alarm Technicians with weekly monthly quarterly semi-annual and annual inspections as required.
- Help with service work and repairs on fire alarm systems under the supervision of Fire Alarm Technicians.
- Assist with shop duties as required.
- Enroll in and complete CFAA training courses and exams toward registration as a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Inspect test maintain and repair emergency lighting extinguishers and fire hoses.
- Deliver and pick up extinguishers hoses and other equipment or materials as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a high level of electronic aptitude.
- Motivated to serve and participate in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Customer-focused with strong communication abilities.
- Experience in the fire alarm industry is an asset but not required.
- Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights on lifts and ladders as required for inspections and installations.
- Ability to work in various environments (e.g. indoors outdoors mechanical rooms).
Path to Advancement:
Progression to Fire Alarm Trainee (Level 2) is expected upon the completion of CFAA prerequisite courses and demonstrated competency.
