Job Summary:
The GIS Technician is responsible for supporting spatial data management analysis integration and transformation tasks across various GIS projects. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong understanding of GIS tools data modeling and spatial data processes. This role involves performing data creation conversion QA/QC workflow optimization and providing GIS support services to meet both internal and external stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced spatial analysis and modeling using Esri ArcGIS tools.
- Utilize linear referencing techniques to manage and analyze route-based data.
- Support data mining transformation and integration from spatial and tabular sources.
- Create and maintain automated workflows using ModelBuilder and Python scripting.
- Maintain update and troubleshoot spatial databases and data layers.
- Provide specialized queries reports and maps tailored to customer specifications.
- Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on geospatial data before production release.
- Analyze business processes and recommend best practices for data management and GIS operations.
- Test GIS applications and document defects; collaborate with end users to gather feedback.
- Contribute to database design and data model development for project initiatives.
- Identify and recommend new GIS technologies and tools to enhance team efficiency.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Geography (GIS) Engineering Computer Science or a related discipline with 2 4 years of relevant GIS experience OR GIS Certificate plus 2 years of relevant GIS experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a utility or pipeline GIS environment.
