Title : Paint shop operator
Location Austin TX
Shift : 4/10 - 1st (Mon-Thu) typically 5:30A-4P)
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr on W2
US Citizenship is required
12 months contract contract to hire
Job description:
- The Client is seeking candidates with assembly experience with a focus on paint application and touch up.
- Candidates will apply chemical coatings to assemblies in a fast-paced quality-focused environment with minimal supervision.
- Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and be able to use a computer to communicate with team.
- The ideal candidate should have experience with precision application of coatings or paint ability to precisely mask keep-out zones on small assemblies follow written instructions interpret assembly drawings and work independently.
- Must be able to use clear written and oral communication to share information with team members.
- Will be expected to meet factory targets associated with Safety Quality Delivery and Cost.
- Use of hand and/or power tools jigs masking aids media blaster and saws will be required.
- Prepare the surface of machined and sheet metal parts for painting by cleaning stripping abrading sanding masking and stenciling.
- Unmask and touch up product with paint or enamel as required.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and process sheets to finish products where thickness and dimension tolerances are critical.
- Able to use measurement tools such as scales micrometers and calipers.
- Use of PPE (safety glasses gloves hearing protection) will be required.
- Task requires an ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time doing masking and touch-up while meeting quality and rate goals.
Skills Required

Precisely mask keep-out zones on small assemblies.
Comfortable with use of computer and Microsoft Office suite of products.

Requires two (2) years of a High School or Trade School education.
