Job Description

Radiology/Nuclear Medicine Technologist Permanent Role

Location: Buda TX 78610
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 12 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform nuclear medicine PET and theranostic procedures (Planar SPECT SPECT/CT) as per protocol.
  • Ensure high image quality through systematic evaluation of imaging procedures.
  • Conduct and document routine quality control (Q.C.) of equipment as required by RAM ACR and equipment manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with biomedical engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Caring Practices:

  • Communicate with patients to confirm procedures assess tolerance and establish rapport.
  • Provide clear instructions and patient education ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Support a positive and professional environment even under stressful conditions.

Patient Safety:

  • Ensure patient comfort and safety by explaining procedures and using appropriate positioning and immobilization devices.
  • Follow aseptic/sterile technique protocols during invasive procedures.
  • Adhere to all infection control and radiation safety guidelines.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong ability to observe assess and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Competency across all age groups (newborn through geriatric).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Skilled in time management and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records PACS Microsoft Office and imaging systems.
  • Willingness to train new staff and students from approved programs.
  • Demonstrates a calm and solution-oriented approach during challenging situations.
Certifications & Licensure:
  • Required:
    • ARRT (N) Nuclear Medicine Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
      OR
    • CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
