Radiology/MRI Technologist (Permanent Role) Location: Temple TX 76508
Shift: Variable 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions of the Role: - Perform high-quality radiology and MRI procedures according to established exam protocols in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain imaging quality and productivity by adhering to established procedural standards.
- Understand and manage radiation dose reference levels perform radiation dose monitoring and take necessary actions if exposure exceeds safe limits.
- Apply AIDET communication principles (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) to enhance patient interaction and care quality.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and families; assess patient ability to tolerate imaging exams.
- Prepare patients and examination areas by properly positioning patients adjusting equipment and applying immobilization devices as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety infection-control drug handling and radiation safety policies and protocols.
- Use sterile techniques for invasive procedures and uphold strict hand hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with biomedical engineers and physicists to ensure proper functionality and safety of imaging equipment.
- Report technical issues and malfunctions to appropriate personnel or management.
- Manage inventory of imaging and medical supplies efficiently.
- Screen all individuals entering imaging areas for safety compliance (e.g. MRI safety screening).
- Obtain review and verify relevant patient documentation including requisitions histories pregnancy status and consent forms.
- Maintain and update medical imaging records in the appropriate system in compliance with departmental policies.

- Strong patient communication skills to ensure comfort and clarity throughout procedures.
- Capable of maintaining service quality professionalism and accuracy under pressure or during emergencies.
- Ability to administer first aid and respond quickly with the emergency cart.
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor to enhance patient satisfaction and care outcomes.
- Commitment to ongoing education and age-specific care standards across all patient populations (newborn to geriatric).
Required Certification/Licensure: - ARRT-R (Radiography) Required
- Additional MRI certification (ARRT-MR).
