Job Description

1. Context

The Director of Enablement (DOE) is the functional head of the Directorate and supervises the enabling elements (covering the full range of logistical and administrative aspects) of the College and assists the Commandant in the execution of all support activities at the College with special responsibility for Host Nation support and coordination. S/he has responsibility for the support to the College with regard to establishing priorities for investment and expenditure from the NDC budget. The DOE is supported by the Deputy (DDOE) who ensures close liaison with the Commandants MA the Deans MA the Executive Coordinator (EXCO) and the Academic support and security elements. The DDOE is responsible for coordination of the NDC policy documentation including Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) College Regulations and Operational Orders. The DDOE is also the NDC Security Officer and supervises the DOEs Staff Assistant.

2. Description of tasks

Under the direct supervision of the DDOE the intern performs the following functions:

Contribute to cross-divisional projects on internal planning processes and aid in planning conferences;

Support the DDOE and the DoE Staff Assistant in the preparation of the 75th anniversary of the NATO Defense College (only for the first period);

Assist the DDOE with the update of College Regulations/Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required;

Provide support to the DDOE in his capacity as Security Officer;

Attend meetings and draft minutes;

Support the DoEs office in any other task as required.

A very good level of English language proficiency is required. Knowledge of Italian is highly appreciated

The candidate is required to be enrolled in university degree programme at Masters level or hold a university degree (Masters degree preferably in Political Science International Relations International Affairs International Public Policy or related subjcts).

NATO Defense College is only able to offer internship to people who are at least 21 and under the age of 30 and citizens of a NATO member country.
