Job Description
Summer 2026 Frontier Cooperative IT Internship.
Frontier Cooperativeis an agriculture leader in Nebraska providing grain agronomy feed and energy products and services to our customers. Essential duties:
As an IT Intern at Frontier Cooperative an agricultural cooperative dedicated to supporting farmers and rural communities you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our IT department. This internship is designed to provide you with broad exposure to various aspects of information technology offering a strong foundation for a future career in the field. You will work closely with experienced IT professionals and gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting system maintenance user support and project implementation. Youll also have the opportunity to learn how technology supports agricultural operations from grain management systems to precision farming tools and cooperative-wide communication platforms. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn enjoys problem-solving and is comfortable working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Youll be involved in both routine support tasks and special projects that contribute to the efficiency and security of our IT infrastructure.
Job skills and requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field
- Basic understanding of computer hardware operating systems (Windows/macOS) and networking
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or similar productivity tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
- Progressive mindset toward ag technology and the advancement of agriculture
- Organizational skills multi-tasking skills ability to collaborate with a team as well as work on projects solo
- Attention to detail and ability to take detailed notes
- Excellent communication skills (writing polished verbal communication skills)
- A willingness to spend time learning about the cooperative system and each of the business units of Frontier Cooperative
- Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours if necessary or when possible
- The ability to work in a professional office environment
- Valid Drivers License and ability to travel within our business footprint
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands shifting priorities ambiguity adversity and constant change
