Position OverviewWe are seeking a Staff or Principal Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in vibrations and system dynamics to contribute to the development and scaling of advanced mechatronic systems in a fast-paced startup environment. You will lead the design fabrication testing and integration of electro-mechanical systems within our industrial robotic products with a focus on modal and vibration analysis.
As a senior technical leader you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and work cross-functionally with electrical software and systems engineering teams to deliver high-performance scalable robotic solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership for the mechanical design of complex mechatronic and robotic systems
Design analyze and validate systems involving multi-axis actuation and dynamic loads
Conduct vibration modal and fatigue analysis using FEA tools
Design and specify actuators motors geared drive systems and sensor integration
Develop and document pneumatic and hydraulic circuits (P&ID) for manipulators and actuators
Drive product lifecycle processes including design reviews documentation and change control
Create robust 3D CAD models and detailed drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Generate supporting engineering documentation: test plans procedures reports and installation guides
Lead failure analysis and system troubleshooting for continuous design improvement
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Robotics or a related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in robotics automation or related industries
Proven success designing electro-mechanical industrial systems from concept to scale
Strong experience in vibrations dynamics fatigue and system-level FEA
Proficient in 3D CAD (OnShape preferred SolidWorks acceptable)
Experience with sensors actuators valves regulators and electro-mechanical subsystems
Excellent communication documentation and teamwork skills
Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
Deep expertise in modal analysis kinematic modeling and dynamic simulations
Industrial tooling or automation system design experience
Experience developing governing equations and free body diagrams
Familiarity with industrial control systems
Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for engineering simulations
Experience setting up engineering documentation infrastructure (BOM part numbering CAD vault etc)
