The Board of Registration in Nursing is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support Complaint Resolution Coordinators in processing disciplinary actions involving licensed nurses. This role includes drafting legal documents managing data entry tracking correspondence and providing general clerical support in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:The Legal Assistant will work closely with two Complaint Resolution Coordinators to process completed disciplinary determinations. Responsibilities include:
Drafting consent agreements and disciplinary/dismissal letters using appropriate templates.
Entering case-specific data accurately and maintaining comprehensive records.
Utilizing Microsoft Office tools-especially Excel-to organize sort and analyze data; create spreadsheets and charts as needed.
Managing certified and registered mail including tracking and follow-ups.
Uploading case documents and navigating large databases.
Learning and using proprietary software and extracting data from multiple online platforms.
Transferring cases to prosecution and tracking supplemental information.
Operating standard office equipment (copiers printers fax machines scanners).
Responding to emails with minimal supervision.
Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive legal documentation.
Applying legal terminology effectively in written and verbal communications.
Performing additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Paralegal certification required.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Exceptional accuracy in data entry and document handling.
Ability to learn new software quickly and work with complex databases.
Experience maintaining confidential records and information.
Familiarity with legal terms and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Must be able to work onsite in Boston MA five days per week.
