Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant
Location: Philadelphia PA 19104
Key Responsibilities
Duties
- Provide physical therapy treatment procedures to assigned inpatient caseload under the direct on-premises supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Maintain an orderly environment in the physical therapy gym and treatment areas.
Clinical
Candidate should possess both pediatric experience and inpatient rehabilitation experience to effectively meet the needs of the role.
- Review patient medical records to understand diagnosis precautions goals and treatment plans; ask questions for clarification as needed.
- Deliver direct interventions in individual or group settings with a focus on gait training exercise and modalities. Treat patients in any hospital setting including the ambulatory network.
- Monitor and document patient progress; provide home program instructions to patients and parents especially related to gait training and transfers.
- Communicate patient progress or issues to the supervising physical therapist.
- Perform care coordination including communication with hospital/community providers and tracking medical equipment.
Education & Certification
- Valid Pennsylvania State license as a Physical Therapy Assista
- CPR Certification (within 90 days of hire).
- Associate degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Progra
- Pediatric experience required.
- Inpatient rehab experience required

- Maintain up-to-date skills and knowledge by recognizing learning needs and engaging in lifelong learning.
- Seek clinical growth through mentorship and pursue assigned departmental competencies.
- Attend departmental and hospital in-services as appropriate.
Administrative
- Ensure productivity and fiscal responsibility in service delivery.
- Participate actively in department planning meetings.
