As the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Supervisor you will be responsible to oversee the delivery of urgent behavioral health services for adults and children through TGC s Behavioral Health Urgent Care. The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Supervisor will oversee the delivery of triage assessment coordination of care referral and support services to adults and children who have demonstrated the need for behavioral health urgent care. Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday 4:00pm to 12am Friday 4:00pm to 10:00pm and Saturday 8:30am am to 2 pm. Flexible scheduling is available.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruit orient and train urgent care team members;
- Provide and document clinical and administrative supervision;
- Lead and document team meetings case consultations and debriefings with urgent care team members;
- Provide regular and consistent feedback and coaching as needed;
- Conduct competency reviews and performance evaluations;
- Complete monthly clinical record reviews;
- Practice model and demonstrate effective strategies of client engagement and reengagement;
- Work with team members to facilitate a thorough and effective screening and assessment process transitional care and discharge planning;
- Work closely with the other TGC s programs to facilitate client engagement in clinically appropriate aftercare services following urgent care services and intervention;
- Facilitate structured debriefing sessions with urgent care team members local police departments and other first responders per formal agreements with each referring department;
- Work with designated urgent care team members to provide short-term mental health support services to local police officers and other first responders per formal agreements with each referring department;
- Ensure that services are delivered in-person in the office the community or via telehealth as clinically indicated and consistent with established safety guidelines:
- Work with team members to improve the quality and timeliness of documentation;
- Help team members learn to effectively navigate the electronic health record and authorization requirements;
- Maintain and schedules to ensure adequate coverage responsive and consistent service delivery;
- Maintain positive working relationships with staff and leadership at partner agencies including MDHHS DWIHN Wayne County Probate Court local law enforcement fire and emergency medical personnel state and community hospitals local school districts other providers and community organizations;
- Collaborate with TGC team members and community partners to improve access to services as needed;
- Maintain statistical records necessary for program evaluation;
- Submit program reports required by the agency and funding sources;
- Respond to complaints from clients guardians and/or family members and advocate for the rights of participants and their families;
- Make referrals to Recipient Rights Adult and Child Protective Services as required;
- Participate in ABH and CBH leadership meetings supervision and consultation sessions;
- Act as a liaison and participate in committees and work groups as assigned;
- Work collaboratively with the ABH and CBH Program Managers Directors and Finance to ensure funding requirements and budgetary guidelines are met;
- Make recommendations regarding the hiring and release of staff;
- Complete 24 hours of program and position-specific training on an annual basis
- Maintain appropriate state licensure and certification;
- Follow a professional code of ethics;
- Abide by all policies and procedures of The Guidance Center;
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel: Mileage Reimbursement when personal vehicle used - IRS standard. .64 per mile
Any training paid for by TGC.

- Candidates for the position of Behavioral Health Urgent Care Supervisor must possess a Master s Degree in Social Work Psychology or Counseling with a LMSW LLP or LPC licensure from the State of Michigan. All state licensure must continually remain active in effect and free from disciplinary action. Specific experience working in a community mental health setting and knowledge of community resources. - Required.
- Candidates must be eligible for a Qualified Mental Health Professional Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional and a Qualified Child Mental Health professional credential at the time of hire. A Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist credential must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
- Candidates must possess a CAADC credential or be on an active approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. The Development Plan application must be submitted to MCBAP with or without the required trainings within 30 days of hire. Documentation of required trainings may be submitted with the Development Plan Application or within 90 days of hire.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience treating children and adults with mental health one year (1) treating or working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or substance use disorders. - Required.
- Candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent clinical assessment triage and crisis intervention skills and the ability to handle crisis situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Must demonstrate competency working collaboratively with clients family members agency staff and community partners.
- Must have the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Must have excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and demonstrate an attention to detail necessary to track prepare and report data.
- Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults and children with mental illness intellectual/developmental disorders and/or co-occurring substance use disorders and their families.
- Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time.
