Responsibilities:
- Oversee department targets and controls monitor shift operations and productivity. Maximize the efficiency of the department and ensure daily production plan targets are available for Operations.
- Ensure effective communications at all levels and complete all necessary administrative work.
- Actively resolve problems team members raise to you. Provide positive feedback and constructive criticism to help build their confidence and to develop their skills.
- Direct supervisors with respect to production volume quality cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives.
- Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.
- Ensure compliance with Technical and Quality standards as identified on Product Specifications to isolate and address any non-conformances and monitor measures designed to maintain and improve standards within the department.
- Monitor and confirm that machinery equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
- Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industry
- Ability to oversee entire Bacon floor production possessing extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs
- Extensive knowledge of product
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally. Interaction with USDA and Union is expected
- Ability to work 1st 2nd or 3rd shift as necessary
- Bi-lingual helpful but not required
- Strong attendance and safety records
