As a Commercial Strategy Principal youll be on the cutting-edge of the mobility revolution combining your exceptional analytical skills with Vias sophisticated transit planning and simulation technology helping to design and optimize integrated transit systems and the services that Via powers. As a leader on the European Commercial Strategy team you will be building and helping to lead our consulting business in Europe as well as taking part in developing and implementing our European market approach. Day-to-day youll collaborate closely with our city and transit agency partners to deliver forward-thinking integrated transit plans for new mobility networks combining fixed-route and on-demand modes and deep-diving studies to design and optimize mobility services around the world.
What Youll Do
- Manage complicated multimodal transportation analysis to help communities study and design forward-looking intermodal transportation and transit systems.
- Solve complex transportation problems by identifying where and how on-demand transit can improve a multimodal network by providing a first/last mile service for a bus or rail line optimizing coverage in areas with under-performing fixed-route service or upgrading paratransit/dial-a-ride.
- Bring analytical rigor and planning expertise to Vias business development process by designing customized mobility services - public transit paratransit and others - for potential partners (from major transit agencies to small cities) based on their geographies land-use patterns policy objectives and budgets.
- Continuously optimize Vias partners service by providing detailed and action-oriented advice about quality of service productivity and fixed-route transit integration opportunities; you will help ensure the success of Vias global deployments.
- Carry out business development activities to support the growth of Vias consulting and planning business.
- Identify new product requirements that would allow Via to better meet the requirements of cities and transit agencies. Work with the Via and Remix technology team to develop test and market the new products to our partners.
- Manage a small team of Berlin-based transit strategists and planners.
- Collaborate with Vias global strategy team to develop refine and implement best practices around the world.
Who You Are
- Passion for transportation and improving access to mobility in urban suburban and rural communities around the world.
- Communicate effectively in both German (native-level) and English (fluent). French Dutch or other European languages are a plus.
- Graduate level degree in business law public policy transportation or urban planning or similar field.
- At least 5 years of consulting transportation planning or other relevant experience; youre comfortable project managing complex strategic and spatial analysis interacting with working level up to senior leadership at partner organizations and are eager to apply your skills in new and exciting ways.
- Experience gathering analyzing and generating specific measures from a broad range of economic demographic and other data.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills especially the ability to break down and communicate complex problems to non-subject matter experts and feeling comfortable representing Via in senior leadership conversations.
