Job Title: Senior Archaeologist / Principal Investigator
Location: Richmond VA (Multiple locations available: Philadelphia PA; Fort Washington PA; Hunt Valley MD; Richmond VA; Raleigh NC; Nashville TN; Knoxville TN; Charleston SC; Columbia SC; Thomaston GA; Tampa FL)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Phase I-III archaeological field investigations ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis.
- Identify and evaluate artifacts and archaeological sites in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.
- Conduct research and analyze historic and prehistoric artifacts.
- Prepare and review archaeological reports site forms and project documentation.
- Assist in planning project alternatives and resolving impacts to archaeological resources.
- Collaborate with field staff lab technicians managers and administrative teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet professional standards.
- Contribute to business development efforts through proposals budgets and marketing materials.
- Coordinate directly with clients and federal or tribal agencies to maintain project quality schedule and budget.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Anthropology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Qualification Standards for Archaeologists.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional archaeological experience including historic and/or prehistoric projects.
- Proven experience leading project teams from start to finish.
- Strong supervisory experience in Phase I-III fieldwork.
- Ability to provide a writing sample (thesis dissertation or archaeological report).
- Valid drivers license.
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) or eligible to become registered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD MicroStation ArcMap or other GIS platforms.
- Experience collaborating with federal agencies and tribal nations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
