Job Description

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Business Line Manager - Rock Tools SA USA

Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment tools service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling rock cutting rock crushing loading and hauling and materials handling.

The Business Line Manager Rock Tools focuses on leading and developing a high-performing team to achieve customer satisfaction market share and profitability. This strategic role involves creating and executing innovative sales strategies for Rock Tools within the Sales Area ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

The manager is accountable for the success and long-term viability of the Business Line driving results through effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration. This includes working closely with other business lines and departments to maximize business potential and sales opportunities.

The role requires strategic thinking to identify and capitalize on market trends fostering a cohesive team environment that emphasizes continuous improvement and customer-centric approaches.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety and sustainability within the team.
  • Implement and monitor EHS processes and procedures ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and risk assessments addressing any issues promptly.

People Management and Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members supporting their professional growth.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Compliance and Sustainability

  • Ensure adherence to all corporate compliance standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Promote sustainable business practices within the Business Line.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize the environmental impact of operations.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices ensuring continuous improvement in compliance and sustainability efforts.

Business Growth and Development

  • Drive sales including handling bids project studies customer requests providing leads making sales calls and presentations training and offering competitive intelligence to customers Account Managers Sales Representatives and dealers.
  • Manage the P&L and NWC for the Business Line Rock Tools within the Sales Area achieving profitability targets aligned with global Division financial goals.
  • Identify and develop sales plans and objectives for the Rock Tools customer base including accurate forecasting.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key customers leading to constructive and profitable business partnerships. This includes compiling tenders long-term contracts and resolving customer technical issues with the Service team.
  • Grow revenue and profitability through direct management of key corporate accounts ensuring high-level technical support that maximizes customer value from our products.
  • Create business development plans and targets for the product range in collaboration with the Product Line Manager and regional Customer Segment Manager. This includes introducing new products to the market.
  • Manage the introduction of new products into the Sales Area to ensure customer satisfaction and value realization.
  • Work cooperatively with the Account Management team to identify and pursue customer sales opportunities leveraging bundled deals to gain market share.
  • Create customer value propositions for the local market to proactively generate opportunities for Sandvik.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable and cash collection per contract terms.
  • Coordinate market data for analysis research and design engineering to successfully develop new product offerings.

Experience

  • Ten years industry-related experience

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in an Engineering or Business discipline
