Job Description

The Associate Director of Registration Services and Assessment plays a pivotal role within theTippie College of Business overseeing a broad portfolio of academic operations that support student success and institutional effectiveness. This position manages the development and execution of registration services ensuring the seamless coordination of course offerings seat reservations and academic scheduling in collaboration with academic departments and under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Enrollment.

This role will lead the degree evaluation and transfer credit processes coordinate undergraduate commencement and manage scholarship awarding. The position also oversees classroom assignments tuition and fee communications and data reporting for accreditation and strategic planning.

In collaboration with college leadership and IT teams the Associate Director develops systems for data analysis and reporting maintains academic misconduct records and ensures compliance with FERPA and accreditation standards. This role is instrumental in shaping a student-centered data-informed academic environment that supports Tippies mission and strategic goals.

Specific Job Duties and Tasks

  • Coordinate with Tippie academic departments to plan and offer course sections under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Enrollment.
  • Manage seat restrictions and reservations across all departments to ensure student persistence to graduation.
  • Coordinate the undergraduate commencement ceremonies for the Tippie College of Business.
  • Oversee domestic course evaluation process for transfer students.
  • Manage the undergraduate-affiliated Tippie College of Business pages for the University of Iowa General Catalog and coordinate with Tippie College of Business Marketing & Communications to ensure channel consistency.
  • Manage the Tippie College of Business undergraduate scholarship awarding and assessment process.
  • Coordinate with Tippie College of Business leadership academic departments and University Classrooms to ensure efficient use of classroom space in the Pappajohn Business Building and the Pomerantz Center.
  • Coordinate with the Tippie College of Businesss Chief Information Officer and the Tippie Data Team to design implement and assess reporting for the undergraduate program.
  • Manage commencement-related budget.
  • Provide periodic training to Undergraduate Program staff and stakeholders in areas of expertise such as census reporting or student conduct.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-5 years in a student-services or records role supporting undergraduate students such as academic advising admissions and enrollment institutional assessment or a related area.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and assessing processes or procedures for large groups of customers or large numbers of transactions.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in program management or event planning and execution.
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and large groups both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated constructive and collaborative relationship building skills with a variety of individuals and groups including peers leadership and external constituents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in business student affairs or a related field.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures related to undergraduate students.
  • Experience with MAUI offerings planner and student records systems Ad Astra classroom scheduling system Blackbaud Award Management system Maxient student conduct system or database management.
