Must-Haves
- Bachelors in applicable field or experience in lieu of degree
- RN licensed to work in the state of Kentucky
- Progressive leadership experience of 3 years
Nice-To-Haves
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
Job Description
The Surgery unit at client Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 5-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.
The Surgical Services Director directs the departments activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives
- Develops and implements departmental goals plans and standards consistent with the clinical administrative legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations including patient care delivery information technologies service level determination and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring orienting evaluating disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares monitors and evaluates departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers clients patients contractors and vendors.
- Manage the work of others including planning assigning scheduling and reviewing work ensures quality standards.
- Responsible for hiring terminating training and developing reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
