Position Overview:
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Director to provide on-site medical care and oversight for incarceratedindividuals including medical sick calls chronic and acute care emergencyresponse policy development and staff training.

Qualifications:
- Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Physician licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia; Board Certification required.
- Additional details:
- Must pass background checks and comply with PREA briefing andsecurity protocols
- No specific requirement for ACLS/BLS or correctional medicine certification
- Must meet insurance requirements
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership communication and crisis-management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical sick call chronic and acute care to detainees
- Respond to routine and emergency medical requests within 30 minutes
- Supervise Correctional Health Assistants employed by PWMRADC
- Be available 24/7 for phone consultation concerning medication ordersand urgent needs
- Review labs radiology and professional consultations
- Develop policies procedures and treatment guidelines in consultationwith the Director of Nursing
- Provide staff training for nursing and security staff
- Participate in quality improvement programs and committees
- Appear in litigation as needed on behalf of the Superintendent and JailBoard
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and the Pharmaceutical Services Contractor to develop a cost-effective medication formulary
