Job Purpose & Summary
The Investment Funds Representative is responsible for developing member relationships by providing advice direct sales and ongoing service for investment products through the branch channel. The primary focus of this role is on mutual funds sales. They will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of member relationships while assessing and anticipating individual member needs. The Investment Funds Representative will be expected to engage in proactive sales and business development through follow-ups and actively participating in community events that promote HMECU to our membership. They are considered a key contributor in the Wealth Department.
Skill Requirements
Required Experience:
- 2-3 years in a Financial/Wealth Advisory Role or equivalent experience is required;
- University Degree or College Diploma in Business or Finance or equivalent;
- Mutual Fund accreditation and license required;
- Experience selling mutual funds is considered an asset;
- PFP CFP or equivalent is considered an asset;
- Canadian Securities Course completion is considered an asset;
- Strong technical and computer skills including MS Office applications (Word Excel Outlook);
- Prior banking/credit union experience preferred;
- Must be bondable.
What youd be doing:
- Conduct basic financial analysis and risk assessment of current and prospective HMECU members to develop investment strategies that best fit their needs;
- Responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of member relationships.;
- Assessing and anticipating individual member needs to maximize member relationships;
- Responsible for regular portfolio reviews with members;
- Responsible for actively promoting HMECU internally and externally with expectation ofcommunity involvement to establish a network;
- Conducts interviews with members to determine short/long term financial goals and provide financial advice on wealth management;
- Engage in proactive sales and business development activities including follow up direct marketing and participating in HMECU community events;
- Draw on personal experience and knowledge to provide additional added value service by making recommendations for improvements to staff members for increasingmember service;
- Presenting informative educational seminars for members both on site and at theoffices of our employer groups;
- Responsible for selling cross-selling and up-selling all credit union products and services based on member identified needs.
